Rubá’í of the Day: Index
As numbered and arranged in Edward Fitzgerald’s first edition.
I’ve decided to go on and continue the “Rubá’í of the Day” series when I run out of Fitzgerald’s translation by continuing on to use those of E. H. Whinfield. He translated many more than Fitzgerald did; moreover, he was more literal and did not as much re-order the verses to fit his intention. He did, unlike many modern translators, though, retain rhyme in his translations. In any case, these translations will allow the series to continue through 2014. To help distinguish, I’m using Arabic numerals for Whinfield’s Rubáiyát. Enjoy when we get here!
